NexInnovations’ Elite Consulting Team Joins Quartet Service
Clients Benefit from Quartet’s Enhanced Business Intelligence and Other Expertise
TORONTO, October 15, 2007 – Quartet Service Inc., a leading information technology outsourcing firm focused on the underserved mid-tier corporate market in the Greater Toronto Area, welcomes the professional services team from insolvent NexInnovations Inc., which was an IT infrastructure and services company.
“We are delighted to have NexInnovations’ consulting talent on board,” said Robert Bracey, Quartet’s President and CEO. “These high-caliber and highly-skilled professionals are a strategic addition to Quartet and a natural fit with our service-oriented, entrepreneurial culture. While at NexInovations the team worked with some of Canada's leading corporations on very sophisticated IT projects like security services for wireless networks, VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), Sharepoint deployments, work flow re-engineering and much more.”
The consulting and integration services staff from NexInnovations’ former Mississauga headquarters chose to move to Quartet after the company filed for protection under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA). Another part of NexInnovations’ business – its hardware technology solutions unit with some 200 employees – was purchased last week by Toronto-based Softchoice Corp.
Quartet’s Bracey said it was an easy decision when he was approached by the nine-person NexInnovations consulting team. “These people wanted to stay as a team as they transition to a new work environment. They love what they do and, quite frankly, they were driving NexInnovations business with many high-margin projects. Their expertise truly enhances our service offerings to not only mid-tier clients but also larger enterprises.”
Quartet was launched almost a decade ago to answer the growing call from mid-tier companies for sophisticated technical services such as remote management, disaster recovery and third-party IT infrastructure management.
Quartet is a Microsoft Gold Partner with infrastructure and information worker specialization, Cisco Premier Partner in the VOIP category and certified Blackberry Partner. Like NexInnovations, it has sophisticated capabilities in the areas of technology strategy, architecture and operations, but focuses primarily on a mid-sized client base.
Most Quartet clients are too big or too sophisticated for "Two Guys and a Truck" IT services and support, but they are also too small to get adequate service from a large IT supplier. Quartet fills the void and has invested millions of dollars in top-end infrastructure, technology and quality customer service. Its smallest customer has four employees and the largest 5,000. The average Quartet client has 45 clients.
Being a privately-owned and operated company with strong profit-sharing and employee support programs, Quartet prides itself on its competitive compensation, career development and work-life balance policies. “The decision of NexInnovations’ consultants to join Quartet proves our ability to attract top talent,” said Mr. Bracey.
